My Approach
In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate space where you are free to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I always say that you steer the ship, we may walk through a recent challenge, try a new coping skill together or explore ways to connect with joy. I use an integrative style (drawing from multiple theories and approaches), which means that every session will be as unique as you are. Regardless of the approach, you can always expect unconditional validation, support and kindness.
I am experienced working with individuals from adolescence through adulthood. Some of my practicing areas of interest include transition to adulthood, building a toolkit for ADHD, queer and trans identity exploration, navigating relationships and building capacity for resilience.
Using an integrative approach, I often pull from Dialectic Behavioural Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Trauma Informed Practice, Polyvagal Theory and Body-based somatic therapy. During our initial counselling session we will overview confidentiality and consent and determine your goals for therapy. Each individual session is 50 minutes in duration. Some clients prefer to have a set number of sessions which can all be booked at once, and some prefer to book as needed. I can work with both of these styles.
